UI / UX design

Design system and prototype, with a handoff devs can ship

From wireframe to high-fidelity prototype in Figma. On handover day your frontend team doesn't have to ask a single question about the first component.

When

When a design package is worth it

  • Inconsistent UI

Every page is slightly different: spacing, button styles, colour palette. Users get frustrated and the team keeps reinventing.

  • Mockups vs reality

It looks great in Figma, ugly in production. The developer can't tell what the designer actually meant.

  • No design system

A new feature design takes a week each time. It should take an hour with a tokenised component set.

  • Poor accessibility

Contrast failures, tiny tap targets, no focus states. Lighthouse below 60 and nobody knows where to start.

Process

How we work

  1. 01

    Discovery

User flow, content inventory, brand audit. Week one we see the full scope.

  2. 02

    Wireframe

Low-fidelity wireframes for the key flows. Fast iteration, no visual noise.

  3. 03

    High-fidelity

Design system tokens (spacing, colour, type), component library, key screens.

  4. 04

    Handoff

Figma Dev Mode, design tokens JSON-export, component spec. Frontend starts immediately.

Output

What ships at the end of the package

  • Figma file: pages, components, design tokens — fully version-trackable
  • Design system docs: spacing scale, colour palette, type ramp
  • High-fidelity prototype for the key flows (mobile + desktop)
  • Component spec: states (hover, focus, disabled, loading) and responsive behaviour
  • Accessibility audit: WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, contrast check, keyboard nav
  • 90-minute frontend handoff session — Dev Mode walkthrough

FAQ

Frequently asked

  • Quick research (5-8 user interviews) can be part of discovery. Deep research (quantitative, ethnographic) is a separate scope and often led by your in-house team.

  • No. Visual identity work runs against your existing brand. If branding is needed, we'll recommend a partner studio.

  • Typically 2-3 rounds at high-fidelity. More iterations are a separate scope. Wireframe phase has unlimited quick iterations.

  • Yes, but it's a separate scope. Many clients work with a freelancer or in-house team for implementation — the Figma handoff is ready for that too.
